Very late to the party, but for several years I've found melodic black metal all too similar and all albums sounding like Dissection, etc... HOWEVER, not only I am back into it but UADA is still a layer of complexity above the main baseline and this is an old album worth having, that's a basic milestone in UADA's discography and I felt it needed to be part of my BC collection.

Faces of Insanity, troisième album du groupe russe Epitimia, est parsemé de concepts psychiatriques mais le plus important est, je pense, celui du test de Rorschach : ce qui compte, ce n'est pas la perception mais l'interprétation. Pour pousser à cet effort, Epitimia navigue volontairement entre deux eaux : la production, les guitares et le chant ont le tranchant du DSBM (Epitimia se rapproche de Psychonaut 4 sur la cinquième piste) mais les mélodies sont très riches, voire groovy. C'est fort !

PSA: if there was an album you heard a couple years ago and thought it was ok, listen to it again and you might love it. That's what happened to me with this album. I cannot fathom why it didn't stick with me back then. Same thing happened with Decoherence's Unitarity for that matter.
